An accident - Unit 9

This happened a week ago which was a real test of honesty. I was walking through the park with my friend Marta when suddenly we found an envelope with € 1000. I was so nervous because I didn't know what we had to do in that moment but my Marta knew what she wanted to do.

'Maria we have to keep it. If we do it we'll be able to buy some clothes and shoes, it's fantastic!' she said.

'I don't think so. I think we have to returned it. It's the right thing' I said.

'But think what we'll be able to do with all this money' Marta said.

'Yeah, I know but the best thing we can do is five it to the police. Trust me' I said.

We were talking a few minutes and in the end we went to the polic office to give the money. I think it was the right thing to do and also, I think that this experience changed Marta and me. 

A year in Australia - Unit 8

Last year I went to Australia to learn english. I knew that at the first time, things would be diffecult but I didn't care about it.

The first two months were horrible. When I arrived there, I didn't understand anything. When I went to school, things were very different. Sometimes my new friends explalined what the teacher was telling me.

In December things changeed. When I went to school, I understood everything. I could talk with my friends really good and my marks changed. All was different.

Since then I started to enjoy the year and the new experiences and new people.

These days, I feel much happier. This trip changed my life and all around me, I think that this wxperience radically changed lives.

School on Saturday - Unit 7

Last week, the government introduced school on Saturday morning to improve the leel of education. In my view, this wouldhave negative consequences.

In the first place, I believe that to introduce school on Saturday morning would have negative consequences because kids would be angry and tired. Young people need some days to relax and to spend time with their friends and their family. I also think that this would have negative consequences because the level would decrease because we would be tired.

In fact, I thik that it is a bad idea that the government introduce school on Saturday morning to improve the level of education because we would be tired and our level would decrease.

The surprise

This Saturday was my 16 th birthday. My friends decided to invite me to the cinema and then for a snack. But on Friday they called me to tell me that they won't come because they have  a basketball match. So I spent the day with my mum in Barcelona, buying something for me. It was great but I was a little disapointed. At 7 o'clock we arrived home. When I opened the door, I saw all my friends and they shouted: "Surprise!". so they hadn't forgotten and it was a great night!

Last weekend

Last weekend I didn’t do a lot of things. I woke up at 10 o’clock. Then I had breakfast and I went to play tennis. When I arrived home, I had lunch and I stayed on the sofa watching TV. At 6 p.m I went to the cinema with some Friends. It was fantastic.

On Sunday morning I went with my parents to the beach. We stayed there for 5 hours. When we came back, I watched a film with my sister and we went to bed at 12 o’clock. I was a great weekend.

A new friend

How are you? I hope you’re well. I’m writing to tell you about my new fríend. Is name is Joe. He’s 15, like me. He’s from London but he came to Spain when he was 4 years-old. He has Brown and short hair. His eyes are blue, like the sea. He’s a Little bit tall. He likes playng tennis. That’s goog because I can play with him. He doesn’t like watching romantic films. He has a dog, a Labrador. She’s so cute! I want you to meet him one day.

Hi Mum!

Laura and I we having a great holidays here in Panama. We’re staying in a hotel next to the beach. The weather here is too hot. We’re all the day into the water. We met two handsome boys the other day and they are gorgeus.

Last weekend we went to a little island. We were alone. It was fantastic. We stay there all the day. The color of the water was so beautiful. It was a great expirience!

Plans for the visit - Unit4

Hi Lucy,

I'm writing you to explain you what are we going to do this weekend.

I think you'll like Banyolas. On Saturday morning we're doing a walk with my parents around the lake. It's so pretty. In the afternoon we'll probably go to Girona to buy something for you or your family, if you want. I'll espect we'll end up in a restaurant in the center of the town.

On Sunda, we could stay at home. In the afternoon we could visit some monument from Banyolas and you could get some photos to show to you'll family. At night we're going to go to a fine restaurant.

We're going to meet you to the airport on friday, so can you remind me what time your going to arrive?

Halloween

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on October 31 in USA , Canada , UK and Ireland. It is a celebration of Celtic origin where the end of the harvest takes place. They regard it as the end of a year . It was the time that the ghost of the death watch the earth and they keep it away with bonfires.

But why do we dress up on Halloween? Apart from bonfires, the celtic culure cover their facewith masks to scare the ghosts of death. So know all the childrens wear scary costums when they celebrate halloween.

Are you for or against using animals for medical research? - Unit 3

Now it's legal to use animals for medical research, but some people are against this practice.

There are a lot of arguments. One of them is that using animals for medical research is that we can see if a medicine is good or bad before we used in humans bodies. Also using animals for medical research has made more cancer survivals worldwide.

On the other hand, there is a moral problem because scientist use animals for medical research. People think that animals do not deserve to suffer . They are also living creatures who have feelings , they aren't toys that can be used for the benefit of a few experiments.

In conclusion, I'm in favor of using animals to medical research because we can not use people . But then I think that animals do not deserve to be treated as they are now .

Asking for advice - Unit 2

Hi Laura!

We've been on holidays in France with my friends for a month now and I've just met this guy, Nathan. He's so sweet and handsome, but I'm not sure how I feel about him. I need help!

I met him on the Eiffel Torre and he invited me for a drink. Both of us were having a real laugh and then he invited his friends. When they came he ignored me and I was getting a little bit angry. But when I said goodbye, he walked to the bus stop with me and neither of us could stop talking.

I've been thinking about things a lot since then. If he asks me out I don't know what to say. He seems very different when he's with his friends. What do you reckon?

The 2000s - Unit 1

The decade between 2000 and 2010 was a decade which people remember for many reasons. There were good things and happy moments. But also they were difficult times like the The World Trade Center in New York City as seen on September 11, 2001.

In the world of tecnologie was a great invention , the iphone was a success. Also Google becomes the internet's most visited website and Facebook became the most popular social networking sitein the world. In the world of the cinema the highest-grossing film of the decade was Avatar and in the world of the music Hip -hop and rap were the two best-selling genres.

By the endo of the decade, Barack Obama was the new presidento of USA. Also Michael Jackson , the pop's king died in Los Angeles.Finally there was a total solar eclipse that was more along the XXI Century.

My last summer

Hi, my name is Maria and today I'm going to talk about my last summer holidays.

First I'm going to talk about Mallorca. Second I'm going to talk about the Pyrenees and finally about my travel to London.

This June I went to Mallorca to my mother's friend house and we stayed for one week. We meet two friends there and they were with us all the time. We usually went to a beach called Cala Agulla. We also went to other beachs. And the last day we went to Palma to spend the day and come back to Girona.

In July my sister and I we went to our cousin's house in the Pyrenees. We were there for one week. All the days in the morning we went hiking to the mountains and in the afternoon we went to the pool or to town. It was a great experience.

Finally in August my father, my sister and I we went to London. We were there for one week. We stayed great hotel. We went to the British Museum, the National Gallery, the London eye, etc,. In the morning we went to museums and the afternoons we went for a walk to Picadilly Circus or Oxford Street. It was amazing!
